Mind also the rare extra marking in purple (Omschenkzending) !!! images/Mveldp47.gif Dutch Military Fieldpost 1947 using issues NVPH nrs 322 till incl 330 Dutch East Indies. images/USA1941.gif This item should be considered as an indivisible part of images/SUERMOND.GIF hereunder. This cover + letter was written on 9 Dec 1941 by an American lady married to a Dutchman, writing to her parents in the USA about the bombing of Pearl Harbour on 08 Dec.1941. However, the letter was refused and censored by the Nazi German Occupiers and finally the letter reached USA by special Transatlantic aircraft Lisbon-New York. Please note the censor marks too. ( WW II ) images/SUERMOND.GIF This item should be considered as an indivisible part of images/USA1941.gif above. This Military postcard ( not using any stamp ) was addressed to the father of the Lady's husband as indicated above and that time (1918) being in military active service. ( Mind that The Netherlands did not join WW I ) images/Surchivz.gif Chinese letter as used in 1878 (first edition preprinted stamp on cover) and only using Chinese characters.
